چکیده
67 Abstract— This paper deals with a new embedded method for Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), also known as neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) or electromyo stimulation. It is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses. The EMS provides remote patient monitoring in healthcare field. The primary function of the system aims in designing an Electrical muscle stimulator which is capable of stimulating the nerves. The described neuronmuscular stimulator stimulates the nerves (neurons) of the part of the body to which the electrodes are attached. It provides relief for headache, muscular pain, or fatigue (due to exertion of muscles) and also revives the frozen muscle which impairs movement. The main function of this EMS is to provide energy to nerve of the muscle and to remove cellulites. This is interfaced with an IR receiver to control over wireless remote.

Synchronized electrical stimulation in treating pharyngeal dysphagia.
OBJECTIVE/HYPOTHESIS The objectives were to test the hypothesis that synchronous contraction of the thyrohyoid muscle by electrical stimulation during swallowing would improve dysphagia resulting from reduced laryngeal elevation and to evaluate the effectiveness of the synchronous electrical stimulator. STUDY DESIGN Prospective study. METHODS Eleven male and 12 female patients (age range, 3...
متن کاملProgrammable Muscle Stimulator for Activating Paralytic Patients
Defective muscles and associated nerves affect the functioning of the parts of the human body leading to paralysis. In order to provide temporal recovery from paralysis the affected muscles can be identified and stimulated in a periodic sequence by driving required electrical current intensity into the muscle. The amplitude, frequency and pulse width of the muscle current are adjusted to see th...
متن کاملElectrical nerve localization: effects of cutaneous electrode placement and duration of the stimulus on motor response.
BACKGROUND Recommendations regarding the technical aspects of nerve stimulator-assisted nerve localization are conflicting. The objectives of this study were to determine whether the placement of the cutaneous electrode affects nerve stimulation and to determine the duration and intensity of an electrical stimulus that allows nerve stimulation with minimal discomfort. METHODS Ten healthy volu...
متن کاملApplication of a programmable dual-channel adaptive electrical stimulation system for the control and analysis of gait.
A dual-channel electrical stimulation system with a stimulator and a programmer/stride analyzer was designed for clinical rehabilitation of gait and for subsequent daily use as an orthotic aid. The stimulator, with controls to adjust amplitude only (50 mA), adapts chosen stimulation sequences to the walking rate of a patient. Pulse duration (50-500 microseconds), frequency (5-120 Hz), shape (sy...
متن کاملDesign and performance of an electrical stimulator for long-term contraction of cultured muscle cells.
Excitability in muscle cells manifests itself as contractility and may be evoked by electrical stimulation. Here we describe an electrical stimulator device applicable to cells seeded on standard multiwell plates and demonstrate how it effectively stimulates synchronous contraction of skeletal muscle C2C12 cells without damaging them. The electrical stimulator of cultured cells (ESCC) consists ...
